This was our first year for the Great Commission Day of Prayer, a seed of what we anticipate will be a growing, annual prayer push as more and more the Church is activated into the harvest.
Six hours were spent praying fervently for each of the major regions of Canada, and for six hours we gave our focus to other nations and continents. The spirit of prayer came in glorious waves, supernaturally lifting faith and bringing breakthroughs. We know prayer was heard and answered in heaven. We know souls were and will be saved as the result of this initiative.
Here’s a few snapshots-- highlights, from the flow of prayer:
“Do it again for the North! Let revival among the Inuit be awakened again!”
“For Atlantic Canada, we declare it’s time for a letting down of nets into the deep..it’s time for souls!”
“Father, we ask you for the salvation of Tibetian monks, dedicated to Buddhism from birth…Jesus is asking for nations!” (Ps 2:8)
“Lord once again, let light knock modern day Sauls off their horses … a light so great in Israel that a people living in the shadow of death would see! (Mt 4:16)”
“May apostolic missions sending centres spring up all though South and Central America - loose missionary zeal!!”
“Father, break into the board rooms of Ontario with the bold proclamation of Jesus, His love and power. No intimidation from political correctness.”
“May the rain of God come to the prairies… “
“Strengthen the persecuted Church with the supernatural power. May they be used as Stephen was, to shift nations, in spite of their great suffering…”
At the end we prayed for all who had gathered through the day, believing for:
- family salvations
- new opportunities to share the gospel
- a powerful impartation of the spirit of prayer!
So if you were involved, keep praying and expecting these blessings!
THE TIMING WAS ABSOLUTELY GOD!
This inaugural Great Commission Day of Prayer, landed the same week as global missions and prayer leaders gathered in Amsterdam for “Mission Possible”, a four day conference to contend for the closed nations of the earth. We are absolutely in sync with what God is doing internationally! In addition, Lou Engle, Dutch Sheets, Ken Gott and others are this week rededicating and re-opening up the historic intercession well of the Rees Howell Bible College in Wales for a new wave of prayer for revival and global harvest.
In light of all this national and global stirring towards revival and harvest, we want to strongly encourage you not to miss the Revival Mantles Course - the first weekend is just 10 days from now.
We must steward what God is doing and honour- not squander- the increase of the spirit of prayer and the faith for revival in Canada.
