Last week we had the awesome blessing of connecting into the historic root of the modern-day House of Prayer and revival movement that’s exploding around the globe. RLHOP pray-ers, Susan and Chris Hermann were on holiday in Germany and arranged to visit Herrnhut, the location where Count Zinzendorf launched a 100 year continuous prayer meeting that triggered a massive missions movement. From this international chapel, Chris & Susan joined RLHOP prayer leaders that had gathered for a special video call, and released impartation of this fire and anointing into Canada.
Two powerful declarations continue to reverberate throughout the House of Prayer movement that can be traced back to this 100 year prayer meeting by the Moravians. These were tremendously meaningful to them and continue to be to all of us.
“The fire on the altar must be kept burning; it must not go out” Lev 6:12
“May the Lamb who was slain receive the reward of His suffering”
As we prayed and received impartation across the kilometers and from centuries ago, we heard the Lord speak clearly to us: “As it was in the beginning, so it shall be in the end.” Immediately we knew He meant that the birthing of the House of Prayer, revival and missions movement that this Moravian base represented was “the beginning” and in our time we will see the fulness of what began, manifest throughout the nations. So we are a part of “the end” generation (even if the return of Christ is delayed for numerous more generations.)
We believe He is saying that there will be a great similarity between the original Moravians and the current House of prayer/ missions movement, there will be a very similar DNA between the two. We can look for an increase of the values an priorities of the Moravians to become evidenced in our generation, particularly: the values of humility, unity, passion for Jesus and a sacrificial lifestyle for the sake of the gospel.
We rejoice and thank God for the impact of this time of prayer, and for Chris and Susan for making it happen. We pray fervently that the entire Canadian Prayer Movement will receive new strength and great fire in this time!
